Cycle Weavers
“Menstruality is a term coined by Jane Catherine Severn, pointing to a woman’s Inner Intelligence or organising principle that is working her from her first bleed at menarche, throughout her menstruating years and menopause and into her post-menopause years.
It is leading her Home to Herself.”
Rooted in Cyclic Wisdom
Cyclic awareness—of the menstrual cycle, the seasons of nature, and the phases of a life—is a powerful portal into vitality, creativity, embodiment, and leadership. Most Western cultures overlook cycles, viewing them as weaknesses and favoring linear progress and constant productivity.
When we live cut off from the rest of the natural world, we begin to forget our wild, rhythmic nature. We treat ourselves as if we were built for constant output rather than for ebb and flow. Yet our bodies and energies shift like the Moon and the seasons—each phase with its own gifts, medicine, and intelligence.
A woman may have less physical strength on the last or first day of her bleed, yet her psychic sensitivity may be at its height. When we ignore the offerings of each stage of our cyclical lives, we sever ourselves from vast sources of power and wisdom.
Blood is urgent. Bleeding is when the veil between life and death thins. A woman who prepares for and enters her bleed with awareness and support, steps into liminal space with the guidance of her ancestors. In that space she dreams for her community—by day and by night—receiving images, insights, and guidance as her womb sheds and empties. She needs her sisters, mothers, and grandmothers to hold and tend her, so that what she brings back is not lost but cherished, honored, and woven into the collective fabric.
As bleeding time approaches, her threshold thins and her tolerance for what is false or inessential wanes—not because she is “PMS-ing”, but because she is entering sacred work. Her clarity is part of what she offers her community.
Everything in nature moves in cycles. Humans are no exception. When we ignore our inner seasons or try to override them, we drift away from our own bodies, needs, and truth. Menstruality is not a problem to be managed, but a gateway to deeper intelligence and authority.
Gathering once a month around a fire to honor our cyclical nature keeps our wellness alive. Together we weave community—catching the stories, dreams, and desires that carry healing for the wider world.
Ceremony and ritual are integral to this path of cyclic wisdom. Listening to the body, honoring the bleed, resting, retreating, celebrating—all restore meaning to what has been hidden, shamed or dismissed.
What to Expect and What to Offer
Come as you are—with your body, your story, and a willingness to listen for the rhythms you carry. Hold each story shared sacred, and honor our differences. Whether you still bleed or not, whether you have a physical womb or not, you belong here. As women, we know in our bones how to gather around fires; we’ve been doing it for thousands of years.
Offer your story, your presence, your thread to the weave. Each gathering becomes a tapestry of many threads—your own, those of the ancestors, and the next generation.
At its heart, Cycle Weavers is a sacred fire-tending community devoted to the wisdom that moves through our bodies, our stories, and the turning rhythms of Earth and Moon.
